The Dementia Project is for LGBTQ+ people living with dementia or concerned about memory loss
Dementia affects around 944,000 adults in the UK. You deserve inclusive support that recognises your individual life experience, whether you or a loved one in your life lives with dementia.
We run several groups for LGBTQ+ people who either live with dementia, or care for someone who does.
We can offer one-off home visits to new referrals who live in Sussex.
We also provide training, advice and information on LGBTQ+ people and dementia for organisations.
We currently offer the following programmes:
- Dementia Support Group
Monthly in-person peer support sessions currently held in Brighton at a wheelchair accessible venue. These are open to both LGBTQ+ people living with dementia, and to LGBTQ+ carers of people living with dementia. We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month from 10.30am-12pm. To find out more or come along, please contact [email protected]. - Speak Out With Dementia
Speak Out With Dementia is our online monthly meet-up for LGBTQ+ people living with dementia. We meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month on Zoom from 4pm to 5pm. To find out more or come along, please contact [email protected]. - LGBTQ+ Carers Meetup
