1770 is located over 3 floors in a period “cottage” just on the edge of Brighton’s lanes, moments from the sea. We have been open since 2005, which makes us one of the longest running tattoo shops in Brighton. For the first 11 years we were the “sister” shop to the famed Into You in Clerkenwell, London that ran from 1993-2016. We fancied a change and have been called 1770 since 2016. Our family of artists have all been tattooing for quite a few years now, and between us we have around 100 years combined experience! Many of us have traveled extensively and worked all around the globe and we are happy to have settled here in beautiful Brighton, one of the most liberal cities in the U.K. Our tattoo experience is second to none, and we pride ourselves on the best possible hygiene standards, even more important in this post Covid world!
Our shop is a great place to visit, filled with natural light and stacked with interesting artworks made by us and some of our extended tattoo family. As artists we all have differing approaches and styles, but we see tattooing as a collaboration between artist and client and our aim is to make a tattoo that YOU are happy to wear for the rest of your life. We specialise in custom tattooing, and work mainly by appointment, however feel free to call, email or drop by and we’ll try and fit you in. Times have changed since many of us started tattooing, but we don’t follow the crowd and are considered some of the very best on the south coast. And yes, we do have vegan inks! See you soon.

Portsmouth is nailing it with their fabulous queer initiatives, but there's one small detail...Where's the love for our Bi+ community? That's where the quirky and brilliant idea of "Bi the Way Pompey" comes in! One overly anxious Bi woman, tired of being pegged as an ally or feeling like she doesn't quite fit in at queer events, decided to flip the script and create a Bi-positive space and sing from the rooftops how essential we are to the momentum of queer Pompey!!
Don't be fooled! Carving a cozy corner for Bi+ folks and allies doesn't mean we're building walls. Instead, we're excited to team up with our Queer community pals, to kindle better bonds and deeper understanding. Let's unite and rock this rainbow!

We are a small team first brought together in the early part of 2016 where we organised the Hastings Pride Launch Party.
Following on from the success of the Launch Party in 2016 we then went on to set up Hastings Pride CIC as a not for profit organisation.
When drawing up our governing documents we made sure that Hastings Pride would always be a free event. We felt that charging people would detract and arguably prevent us from our primary goal of breaking down the social barriers which exist within society today.
Hastings Pride CIC was incorporated in March 2017 as a stand-alone Community Interest Company.
How do I know if I need help?
Of the thousands of referrals we receive each year, many are from people who don’t know what is wrong. They only know that their life is not enjoyable.
We often find people have waited several months or even longer before making contact. We encourage people to identify symptoms and make a referral sooner. Tackling issues at an earlier stage means quicker access to treatment and can prevent symptoms from worsening.
We know it takes courage to talk with someone about how you’re feeling. We offer a safe space where you can do that.

Helem, is the first LGBTQIA+ rights organization in the Arab world, officially established in Beirut, Lebanon in 2001. Its mission is to lead the struggle for the liberation of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Intersex, Transgendered, Queer (LGBTQIA+) and other people with non-conforming sexualities and/or gender identities in Lebanon and the SWANA region from all sorts of violations of their individual and collective civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights. Our goal is to empower young LGBTQIA+ leaders to advocate for their own liberation. We seek to create initiatives and spaces where our communities can leverage unity through diversity and build power. We protect and support individuals with the resources to resist the harm caused by homophobia and transphobia. We empower our youth through education and community building, and we mobilize to change the laws, policies, and practices that deny us equality and reduce our quality of life.
Here at Hidayah UK, our mission is to provide support and welfare for LGBTQI+ Muslims and promote social justice and education about our community to counter discrimination, prejudice and injustice. We aspire to create a society free from discrimination.

We define domestic abuse as violence, abuse, or controlling behaviour perpetrated by a partner, ex-partner, or family member. This can be physical, emotional, financial, or sexual. We also support people affected by so-called ‘honour’-based violence and forced marriage.

No Holds Barred is run by people with disabilities or from a marginalised group. The aim is to build each other up and change the way things are done, by linking together people with disabilities, marginalised groups, collaborators, and anyone wishing to make a difference. As a baseline, No Holds Barred is trying to make activities and communities physically, emotionally, and practically accessible. From this point hoping that systems will be created so that many people will feel they are able to make a difference to themselves and those around them. It is not a static group so people can begin to create the things that they dream of and create new dreams together. Also, see our Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/556282961141743/

Who we are
PrEPster was founded in October 2015 by four London based HIV prevention activists, in response to the lack of clear and concise educational info available about PrEP. In particular, those activists were concerned about the lack of information to key communities including gay and bi men, Black African communities, trans people, sex workers and migrants.
PrEPster is known for being independent from any statutory or voluntary sector organisations. We believe that our work should be led by and should over-serve populations that are less likely to access PrEP education materials but are most in need of it. Our work focuses on being diverse, ensuring that those communities of concern are at the heart of our planning and our work.
Collectively, we have a wealth of over 50 years experience in public health and advocacy, and most of us are either living with HIV, PrEP users or are in sero-discordant relationships.
PrEPster is a program of The Love Tank, a not-for-profit community interest community (CIC) that promotes the health and wellbeing of under-served communities through education, capacity building and research.

The Queer Parenting Partnership was launched in 2020, in response to the shocking lack of birth and parenting support services for LGBTQ+ people in the UK. Kay and Kim connected online and combined their knowledge around midwifery and childcare to create a complete antenatal and postnatal education programme.
We recognise the need for additional services targeted at not only LGBTQ+ families but also at other families perceived to be minorities. That being said, everyone is welcome at The Queer Parenting Partnership.
Our values are of equality, fairness, power, love, community, laughter and fun. We aim to build a community for queer families to learn and grow together and to celebrate our presence in the world.
We welcome people from all sections of our community. We offer an enjoyable, supportive and affirming environment for LGBTQ+ members to sing, develop their community spirit and awareness, and enable individuals to develop their talents, skills and confidence.

Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGTBQI+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQI+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic, state-enabled homophobia and transphobia. These factors either displace them in their own country or prevent them from escaping harm.
As you get older it’s not unusual to spend more time on your own, particularly if you’ve lost loved ones or your health isn’t what it used to be.
Following the success of our call companions service, we launched rainbow call companions: a free telephone befriending service for LGBT+ people who are lonely, isolated or in need of companionship and feel they would benefit from a friendly phone call every week or two. This is a service specifically for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender plus (LGBT+) people aged 75+ who would like to speak to someone who’s also LGBT+.
Calls last for half an hour or so and you can chat about anything that interests you. What's great is that the same volunteer phones you every time, so you can get to know each other and share stories and laughter – for as long as you both want.
Rainbow call companions has been awarded by the NHS National Advisor for LGBT Health award (2022), which recognises outstanding work by individuals and groups across the NHS and VCSE sector to improve the experience of LGBT+ patients and the LGBT+ workforce and shine a light on examples of best practice.

The Arun Gay Society (TAGS) was formed in 1982 out of the local branch of CHE (Campaign for Homosexual Equality), which had been meeting in Littlehampton since December 1974. TAGS operates primarily as a social group for the LGBTQ+ community in the southern part of West Sussex, but members come from much further afield. Our regular gatherings offer a relaxed social atmosphere and among the members there are fully qualified counsellors able to give help to those facing particular difficulties and many who are willing to offer purely practical advice and information. We meet informally, once a month in a seafront hotel bar in Worthing and at other times usually at a member's home.

In the summer of 2015, after a volunteering on the ground, our small team assessed what the biggest needs were for refugees in Calais and Dunkirk so we could focus our time and resources. We met with refugees in the camp and they described to us how they’d had their most basic human rights refused, we heard repeated stories of daily abuse and humiliation inflicted by gangs and shockingly, the CRS French military police (paid for by the UK.) It was very clear that most people lacked access to basic health care, aid and shelter. Following the photograph of Syrian toddler Alan Kurdi, (who had tragically drowned crossing the Mediterranean) appearing on the front pages of most mainstream newspapers, we quickly started to receive hundreds of emails offering help and thousands of pound in donations. These donations enabled our team to grow significantly.

At this stage, the Trans Dimension is focussed on London-based events listings only, however we do plan to expand to cover more areas across the UK.

Sam Hall
MBBS, FRCA, MRCGP
Sam qualified in London in 1993, and became a GP after a 15 year career as a hospital consultant.
He has several areas of interest in general practice including women’s health, trans-affirming care, food as medicine, neurodivergence and trauma-informed practice.
Sam's passion is training a multi-professional primary care workforce suited to meeting the needs of those facing healthcare inequalities.
It is a basic human right to have our healthcare needs met, and enabling this requires a different way of learning. Changing the health of the nation necessitates making healthcare accessible to all.
He lives in Brighton with his family, has given up his car, tries to cycle instead and sings in an LGBT choir for kicks.
