About TNB – Launching February 2019
As part of The Clare Project, TNB is a new drop-in and social support service for those identifying as trans, non-binary, and/or questioning their gender identity or variance. The group is facilitated by trans/non-binary people and will start by running once a month from February 2019, on the third Thursday 6-8pm, in the welcoming Café Domenica located on Preston Road, Brighton.
TNB will be introduced as the social hub for the community, in which people can also find out information and resources for support services in the area, or take part in workshops or discussion groups. Each month will host a theme or topic, by which attendees can voluntarily engage with in whichever way they feel comfortable. Topics may include health and wellbeing, substance misuse, housing, or even artistic expression or sports.
“We realize there is a desperate need for more support and resources to be made available for trans and non-binary people within the area, and we see this as just the beginning of many great projects to come. The drop-in will be person-centered towards the needs of the community, and we hope it will empower members of the community to get involved and even host their own in the near future.” – Grace Cummings (Trans Engagement Officer)
